CMC Report Sheds Light
on UK CBD
As the world’s leading supplier of CBD isolate, we’ve been paying attention to CBD’s international growth, and one thing is becoming increasingly clear: CBD is more than just a US phenomenon—it’s a global phenomenon.
The Centre for Medicinal Cannabis (CMC) has been paying attention too. The organization just released its latest report entitled “CBD in the UK: Towards a responsible, innovative, and high-quality cannabidiol industry.”
“Simply put, CBD should be produced in GMP-certified facilities that have reliable, accurate and consistent testing labs.”

A CALL FOR REGULATION
The report brings the call for CBD compliance and regulation straight to Britain’s doorstep and urges officials to amend out-of-date legislation, provide clarity relating to current policy and facilitate medical research.
“Clear, consistent regulation is in the long-term interests of consumers and industry alike,” said John Wallace, managing director for UK/EU operations, Mile High Labs. “Until such regulations are in place, every company in the industry should commit to high standards for consistency, quality and transparency.”
THE UK CBD CONSUMER
The report offers more than calls for regulation. CMC also provided insight into the current and future state of CBD in the UK, specifically consumer behaviors and what they expect from their favorite brands.
What’s most important to consumers? Knowing that the CBD product was made by a supplier that met recognized high standards and knowing that the contents were not contaminated with pesticides and heavy metals. Consumers want and deserve to know that their CBD is legitimate—and we couldn’t agree more.
“Simply put, CBD should be produced in GMP-certified facilities that have reliable, accurate and consistent testing labs. Products should be accurately labeled so that customers know exactly what they’re getting,” said Mr. Christian Hendriksen, co-head of international expansion, Mile High Labs.
HOLDING OURSELVES ACCOUNTABLE
The commitment to self-regulation is one we take very seriously at Mile High Labs. We’re one of the only CBD companies to comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) established by USFDA, and we’re in the process of obtaining our ISO 9001 certification. Additionally, we conduct release testing to ensure that our CBD is completely free of pesticides, heavy metals and residual solvents. If a product doesn’t meet our high standards, we won’t ship it.
Mile High Labs applauds and welcomes the findings from the Centre for Medicinal Cannabis’ latest report, and we encourage all of our followers to take the time to read the summary.
